Truist Arena has announced that beginning with the Northern Kentucky University men's basketball game on January 4, 2025, new security screening measures will be implemented for all guests. OpenGate, a walkthrough security detection screening, will be in place to expedite guest entry for all events inside Truist Arena, including NKU Athletics events.
OpenGateTM is a groundbreaking weapons detection system designed for the automatic screening of people. Guests will be able to enter Truist Arena without needing to divest personal items (belts, coins, wallets, glasses case, keys, watches, or jewelry). Guests will be asked to remove cameras or phones.
The visible security measures will also include the presence of uniformed police officers, as well as bag and security screenings at all entrances, and are designed to enhance the overall safety and security of all patrons attending events at Truist Arena.
